Following her assault, Maggie stands strong and refuses to see herself as a victim while PJ and Ben work tirelessly to uncover the truth behind the lurking menace in Mt. Thomas. Determined to reclaim her life, Maggie faces the aftermath of the attack, even as PJ and Ben scramble to shield her. Their initial suspect falls through when a witness points them to the local reverend, who leads a support group for troubled men, raising suspicions of his involvement. As Maggie receives a menacing tape and inappropriate magazines turn up in the reverend's vehicle, the Heelers confront him to reveal the truth. With media speculation running rampant, tensions escalate, especially after the Heelers release their primary suspect. Driven by grief, the victim's mother takes it upon herself to track down leads while Tom organizes a public meeting to ease the growing unrest in the community.
