Jack unexpectedly secures a spot on the Mudlarks football team after the tragic death of its star player in a suspicious car accident. This isn’t exactly how he envisioned earning his jersey. PJ remembers the deceased as a troublemaker and suspects he might have been intoxicated at the time of the crash. Meanwhile, Senior Constable Robyn Taylor from Melbourne's accident investigation team has her own theories, challenging PJ in the case. Without Maggie around, PJ is feeling down, and whether he likes it or not, Robyn is stepping in as his partner until Maggie returns from witness protection. Recently relocated to Mt. Thomas with her husband, Jeff, and their baby, Lucy, Robyn adjusts to her new role. After a subdued wake for the fallen player, Jack and some teammates head out for a more festive celebration. However, the drinking spirals out of control, and Jack's new friend, Matt, shows off with reckless driving. Concerned for everyone's safety, Jack tries to rein them
