Dash's future seems promising when Inspector Monica Draper arrives for the monthly review and suggests she enroll in the CIB training program. However, Tom is skeptical about a McKinley becoming a detective, while PJ reluctantly agrees to mentor Dash. Her first case challenges her ethics when $10,000 vanishes from the local Catholic school’s safe. The prime suspects are the new principal, Deborah Williams, and Father Brian, both of whom have the motive and opportunity. As Dash and PJ dig deeper, Dash's trust in authority is shaken when they discover that Deborah is being blackmailed, with the threat of exposing her sexuality hanging over her career.
