However, a string of setbacks, including tragic street losses, legal troubles, a contentious contract issue, and a management dispute that created tension between Dre and Eazy-E, threatened the group's unity and left Dr. Dre contemplating a new path. Simultaneously, Jimmy was climbing the music industry ladder through successful partnerships with artists like Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks, with whom he had a romantic connection. Yet, after a grueling collaboration with U2 tested his limits, he pondered a shift in his own career.
