Episode Overview
Martin is on a quest for the toughest material to fix his spaceship, aiming for an alloy called silibalt, which combines silicone and cobalt but doesn’t exist on Earth yet. To create it, he needs access to a cyclotron. Instead of wrecking Tim's kitchen trying to make it himself, he tags along with Tim to a university interview where one is located. There, he meets 13-year-old prodigy Donald Mumford, who often clashes with his advisor, Dr. Jackson. While Martin and Donald collaborate on the silibalt, Tim grapples with Dr. Jackson, who criticizes Donald’s ambitions, alongside Jeanine Carter, Dr. Jackson’s attractive assistant and protector of Donald. An explosion caused by a mishap alerts everyone to Martin and Donald’s location. Dr. Jackson expels Donald, but after Martin argues that Donald’s genius deserves special treatment, he is reinstated.
