My Favorite Martian (1963)

Episode Overview

Martin comes across a $2 billion American space initiative, which he believes is destined for disaster. Concerned about the potential waste of taxpayer money, Tim fabricates a letter to the editor, incorporating Martin's nighttime thoughts, which he believes hint at the program's flaws. Using this fake letter as a basis, Tim pens a critical article about the funding. However, the government catches wind of his deception, suspecting him of being a Russian spy. Under intense questioning with a lie detector, Tim struggles, especially when it comes to Martin. This leads agents to bring in Martin, subjecting him to a series of interrogation techniques. Although he manages to resist most, he ultimately succumbs to truth serum and reveals he’s a Martian. The agents, concluding that Martin is simply unstable and causing Tim's stress, decide to release both of them.
