Edwardian Farm (2010)
S01E10 June
Episode Overview
In June, archaeologists Alex Langlands and Peter Ginn, along with historian Ruth Goodman, venture to Dartmoor to uncover how Edwardian farmers capitalized on the stunning landscape to boost their earnings. The trio herds a flock of sheep to Dartmoor, an ideal spot for summer grazing. While Alex and Peter tackle the art of sheep shearing, Ruth heads to a wool mill to learn about the processing and manufacturing of fleece. As Dartmoor gains popularity as a tourist destination, thanks to figures like Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the team is joined by Rupert Acton, their land agent from the Victorian Farm project, who arrives in a classic Rolls Royce with his family. They enjoy a picnic together before using historical maps to navigate a genuine Edwardian hiking trail.
