Captain Planet and the Planeteers (1990)

Episode Overview

Carlos, a young farm boy living on a small island, grows envious when his cousin returns from the city. He encounters Zarm, who refers to himself as the Dream Maker, and gains the ability to make wishes. Eager to impress a girl he likes and get back at his cousin, Carlos wishes for items that he believes will capture her attention. Word spreads about the Dream Maker, and soon the entire town is clamoring for extravagant desires. Overwhelmed by greed, the townsfolk overlook the depletion of their natural resources caused by their wishes. As the consequences become apparent, the Planeteers realize they need Captain Planet to confront Zarm and prevent an impending conflict between the townspeople and the villagers in the hills, who are also eager to benefit from Zarm's powers.
