Episode Overview
As the first day of school kicks off, chaos ensues when the police arrive in search of a murder suspect. A robbery gone wrong nearby has left a man dead, and the shooter, clad in a Winslow High letterman jacket, is believed to be fleeing towards the school. Authorities suspect a student is hiding on campus and insist on an immediate search. Meanwhile, Lisa and Buttle, unaware of the escalating crisis, sneak into the empty boiler room for a rendezvous. Their secret is abruptly interrupted when Riley and an officer discover them. Riley promises to keep their affair under wraps but warns Buttle to end it before it jeopardizes his future. As the situation intensifies, a code red alert is issued, confining everyone to their classrooms. Lauren eventually suspects one of her students might be the fugitive, but before she can intervene, he pulls out a gun, taking her hostage.
