After a transport ship crash leads to the destruction of the Venus colony, Capt. Miles Davidow (C. Thomas Howell) emerges as the sole survivor. Rescued by a team featuring his fiancée, Kate Girard (Amanda Tapping), and Scott Perkins (Jeffrey Jones), it quickly becomes apparent that Miles is not physically untouched by the ordeal. Once removed from Venus's high radiation levels, his body reacts to Earth's atmosphere as if he were undergoing chemotherapy. When doctors administer the radiation his body craves, bizarre occurrences unfold—his wounds mysteriously heal and duplicate body parts begin to emerge. Despite these unsettling changes, Miles and Kate wed while he remains in isolation, but the experiences he endured on Venus have left a lasting impact on him.
