Mingo is marked for death, and Daniel Boone faces the urgent task of apprehending his friend before Kentucky is plunged into chaos. Yadkin, a reliable ally to both Booneborough and the Cherokee, had ventured upriver for a meeting with a Cherokee trading group when they were suddenly attacked by a Creek war party. Daniel's son, Israel, discovered Yadkin drifting down the river. With Cincinnatus extracting the bullet and Rebecca Boone caring for him, Yadkin begins to recover from his ordeal.
