Episode Overview

Grylls jumps from a plane into the Sierra Nevadas, mimicking the plight of countless hikers who get lost in this region each year. Armed with just a knife and a canteen, he navigates through the mountain's alpine, woodland, and chaparral terrains. He attempts to befriend a wild horse but fails, and at one point, he consumes a live snake. Drawing on wisdom from the Mono Indians, he improvises a toothbrush using a manzanita leaf. Much of his journey involves navigating rivers, where he crafts a makeshift raft using grapevines.
