Episode Overview

Grylls jumps into the Sierra Nevadas, mirroring the plight of the many hikers who find themselves lost in the region annually. Armed with only a knife and a canteen, he navigates through the mountain's alpine, woodland, and chaparral terrains. After a failed attempt to catch a wild horse, he resorts to eating a live snake. Drawing on knowledge from the Mono Indians, he even uses a manzanita leaf to clean his teeth. Much of his journey involves navigating rivers in a raft made from grape vines.
