Episode Overview
Jim Mallory, a forest ranger, and his wife Linda have adopted a daughter named Anne, keeping the tragic truth of her biological parents' murder-suicide a secret to protect her. When a blackmailer contacts Jim, threatening to reveal Anne's past unless he receives money, Jim decides to pay but alerts the police. Sensing something is off, the blackmailers change the location for the money drop. Tensions rise among the criminals, resulting in one of them being killed. As the police investigate, Jim becomes a suspect. He eventually apprehends the blackmailer, but not before she reveals the painful truth to Anne. Despite the shock, Anne reassures the Mallorys of her love, affirming that they are her true parents.
