Episode Overview
Title: A Corpse in the Barn Plot: Bessie Carnby and her daughter Camilla are embroiled in a bitter rivalry with their neighbors, Henry and Samantha Wilkins. In an attempt to mend fences, Bessie invites the couple for dinner. While Samantha declines, Henry shows up, attempting to maintain a cordial atmosphere. Soon after, he goes missing, and Bessie spots Samantha frantically digging in the barn. Convinced of Samantha's guilt, Bessie calls the authorities, who unearth a decaying body. Samantha is sentenced to death for the crime, but Henry later reappears, claiming he was at sea, and marries Camilla for his late wife's fortune. Realizing she was deceived, Bessie feels remorse for Samantha's fate and plots to poison herself, framing Henry as the culprit.
