Episode Overview
Jim Derry, a hitman, is contracted to eliminate a bookie named Eddie Breech. However, his conscience begins to trouble him when he learns that Eddie’s wife, Connie, is wheelchair-bound and is suffering from her husband’s infidelity. Derry decides to help the Breechs stage Eddie's death so they can escape to Mexico together. He procures a corpse from the morgue, placing Eddie's wallet and wedding ring on it before setting the car ablaze with the body inside. After receiving his payment, Derry is arrested when the police discover the car, convinced Eddie is dead. When questioned, Derry claims Eddie is in Mexico, but the situation escalates when Connie accuses him of murder. Derry realizes he’s been framed; Connie killed her husband and manipulated him to take the blame.
