Episode Overview

On December 20, 1995, American Airlines Flight 965 is on its way to Cali, Colombia. The flight crew is presented with the option for a straight-in approach to the airport and agrees. However, while adjusting their flight management system (FMS), they accidentally erase critical waypoints, leaving them uncertain of their location. This error ultimately results in the aircraft colliding with a 9,000-foot mountain near Buga. Tragically, only four passengers and a dog manage to survive the crash.
