Mystery Diners (2012)

Episode Overview

Michael, the proprietor of Newport Beach Brewing Company, enlists Charles to look into suspicions surrounding his brewmaster, rumored to be running a side venture. The Mystery Diners go undercover and quickly find that the brewmaster is innocent. Instead, they uncover serious issues with bartender Mike, who has been collaborating with a waiter on a side project. Mike confesses to crafting his own unique beer flavors at home and marketing them at the brewery. When confronted, Michael dismisses Mike from his position. During his exit interview, Mike shows no regret, insisting that Michael missed out on a chance to profit from his beer creations. The narrator notes that Mike's attempts to promote his brand have failed, while the waiter is also let go and has since secured a new job. Meanwhile, the brewmaster remains a key asset to the company.
