Episode Overview
Lynn and Maya confront Joan about her jealousy and negative attitude toward Toni's upcoming wedding. Joan becomes furious when Toni reveals that Reesie Jackson, her former college roommate, will be joining as a bridesmaid. This infuriates Joan, as she had previously coerced Toni and Lynn into promising never to speak to Reesie again after she took Joan's boyfriend, Brian. Joan is outraged to find out that they have maintained contact and are even godmothers to Reesie's children. When Reesie arrives, Joan gives her the cold shoulder, venting her frustration over lost dreams of a family. Reesie then discloses that she has AIDS, contracted from Brian, who had reckless sexual encounters while denying his sexuality. The girls attempt to support Reesie, but panic ensues when she accidentally cuts herself while preparing food. Although she reassures them that HIV cannot be transmitted this way, Joan remains doubtful. Meanwhile, Toni
