Wild Africa: Rivers of Life (2018)
S01E02 Limpopo River
Episode Overview
The vital Limpopo River meanders over a thousand miles through South Africa and Mozambique before emptying into the Indian Ocean. For four months each year, this mighty river breathes life into the surrounding environment, supporting a rich array of wildlife that relies on its waters. However, for the other seven months, its flow is trapped in hidden underground aquifers, leaving behind a dwindling number of small, muddy pools. The region suffers under intense heat and drought until the arrival of the next rainy season.
