Episode Overview
Fran receives a surprising call from a woman who claims to be her mother due to a hospital mix-up on Fran's birth day. Skeptical, Fran approaches Sylvia for clarity, only to discover that the story may hold some truth—Sylvia had briefly left her to find food. Disturbed by the possibility of her life being a fabrication, Fran invites the woman over, only to realize she is Black. Later, while visiting Lila Baker's extravagant mansion, Fran insists Lila could be her daughter because her deceased husband was Jewish, but DNA results prove otherwise. Ultimately, Fran is confirmed to be Sylvia's daughter, a realization that hits Sylvia as she enjoys Lila's exquisite cuisine. Meanwhile, Niles attempts to persuade Maxwell to sell one of his plays to CBS, hoping it would force C.C. to relocate to Los Angeles.
