Their journey begins after they expose a con artist impersonating a minister, who reveals the elusive Ben Ainsley – the mastermind behind a significant real estate scam that left many, including Ricky, financially devastated. Despite Brandi's reservations, Dottie's compassionate nature drives them to pursue the case. They seek assistance from the ever-grumpy Jack Forbes and later confront Ainsley's former accomplice, Tom Lindquist, who claims ignorance about Ainsley's whereabouts.
