Episode Overview

In the opening episode, Dan Troop steps into the role of marshal in Laramie following the murder of his predecessor. His initial task is to track down the man responsible for the killing, and along the way, he enlists the help of a skilled deputy named Johnny McKay. This episode marks the beginning of several appearances by seasoned actors Jack Elam and Lee Van Cleef.
