Francis Urquhart embodies the ideal politician—diplomatic, charismatic, and held in high esteem by everyone around him. He has devoted himself to his party unflinchingly, but a significant shift is on the horizon. Following the death of the long-serving Prime Minister, a search begins for a successor. As a staunch Conservative, Urquhart believes that none of the potential candidates are fit for the role. While he keeps his true thoughts under wraps, his influence as Party Whip makes him a sought-after ally. He must navigate this delicate situation carefully; backing the wrong candidate could jeopardize his position, while aligning with the victor might lead to a coveted Cabinet role.
