Episode Overview
Tim Helfet, a young journalist, seeks protection from Nick and Amanda after receiving threats from the assassins of his father's murderer, Rankov. Rankov, an advisor to a Balkan Prime Minister negotiating a peace treaty, possesses a laptop filled with crucial information that Tim needs. When Nick and Amanda attempt a break-in, they discover Rankov is an Immortal, forcing them to escape when he detects Amanda's presence. Amanda has a history with Rankov, having lost a protégé to him centuries ago. Realizing Tim is a Watcher who knew about their connection, they still decide to assist him. Nick infiltrates the manor with Amanda guiding him remotely to avoid detection. However, when Tim is captured, Rankov kills the Prime Minister and frames Tim for the murder. In the climax, Amanda confronts Rankov and emerges victorious while Nick deals with the guards. As the episode wraps up, the Watchers suggest Tim should go into hiding to avoid capture.
