Chris Tarrant, a well-known TV and radio presenter, embarks on an adventurous train journey through some of the globe's most difficult landscapes, starting in Bangkok, Thailand, and making his way to Mandalay in Myanmar. He follows the historic path of the infamous Burma-Siam Railway, a 250-mile stretch constructed by the Japanese during World War II with the help of forced Asian labor and Allied POWs. As part of his exploration, he stops at the iconic Bridge on the River Kwai, a significant landmark along the route.
