Speed Racer (1967)

Episode Overview

Speed realizes that the statues must be controlled remotely. Suddenly, the statues open fire on him, but he escapes unscathed. Just then, a group of assassins drops in on him. After fending them off, Speed comes face-to-face with Gat Gunsel, the leader of the local assassin division. He’s commanded to approach a statue, which conceals a hidden entrance to their headquarters. Meanwhile, diplomats from a sightseeing boat find themselves imprisoned in a cell. Speed observes the assassins showcasing their talents—one expertly shoots the pips off a playing card, while others perform impressive feats like walking through flames and cracking rocks with karate chops. Their driving skills are equally astonishing, as their vehicles double as weapons. Eventually, Speed is brought before Professor Anarchy, the head of the entire assassin organization. Anarchy proposes a position within the gang, but Speed declines. Instead, the professor intends to make Speed his 2,708th victim.
