Cassie searches for an old acquaintance of her mother, Heather Barnes, and learns that Heather has been in a catatonic state since the night of the fire 16 years ago. Consumed by guilt over the possibility that her mother and their Circle could be responsible for Heather's condition, Cassie confides in Diana about her desire to use magic to aid Heather. However, Diana refuses to assist her. On the other hand, Faye is eager to help with a spell, but she'll demand a steep price in return.
