S01E06 On the Hunt
Episode Overview
All night long, Theodore Roosevelt roams the corridors of Elkhorn cabin, wrestling with the challenge of crafting a eulogy for his late wife, Alice. Her family has asked him to honor her memory with heartfelt words, but he's at a loss. Seeking a diversion, his companion, Bill Merrifield, proposes an adventurous hunt in the Bighorn Mountains for a bull elk, and Roosevelt eagerly seizes the opportunity to escape his grief. The tough trek to Wyoming leads them to encounters with Cheyenne warriors, reminders of Alice, and an unexpected meal with a U.S. Cavalry unit. When Roosevelt discovers a soldier severely injured by a grizzly bear, his focus shifts entirely; he vows to track down the dangerous bear before it can harm anyone else.
