Title: Secrets and Sacrifices Plot: When Janet King's sister, Abigail, and Great Aunt Eliza arrive back in Avonlea, they disrupt Janet's life considerably. Janet teases Abigail about a potential spring wedding and reveals a dress pattern she's eager to sew. However, Abigail's comments to Cecily reach Alec, who misinterprets them as Janet longing for an engagement ring he couldn't buy. Fueled by this misconception, Alec resolves to procure a ring for Janet, but in the process, he borrows her wedding band to "size" the new one, leading Janet to believe she has lost her ring and prompts her to seek a replacement.
