While she grapples with this heartbreaking news, her growing romance with Simon brings her some joy, leading her to accept his marriage proposal. Yet, the mounting pressure to protect their careers—especially as Hetty initiates a comparison test between Avonlea Public School and Carmody School—forces them to confront the reality that their professional ambitions may ultimately keep them from a future together.
