Episode Overview
Charles and Orry embark on a mission to free George Hazard, who is imprisoned at Libby Prison in Richmond. They successfully bring him back to Union territory just in time for Christmas. However, upon his return, George discovers that a warrant has been issued for his arrest due to allegations of selling defective cannons to the Army. Determined to clear his name, he confronts Morgan, the black market dealer, while his brother Stanley steps up to do the right thing. Meanwhile, at Mont Royal, Brett faces a troubling situation with Salem Jones. Madeline continues her charitable work in Charleston, assisting the residents of a shanty town and enlisting Rafe Baudeen’s help when a group of boys is forced to dig rifle pits for the military. Bent remains fixated on seizing control of the Confederacy, manipulating Ashton into an affair with a benefactor, and stockpiling ammunition. Orry soon catches wind of his plans. Exhausted, Charles pays a visit to Augusta
