Episode Overview

Following the conclusion of the war, Orry and Madeline settle in Richmond while awaiting the reconstruction of Mont Royal. During their stay, Bent and Ashton drop by. Ashton suspects they are there to squeeze money from Orry, but Bent has other plans focused on vengeance. In a fit of anger, Ashton shoves Bent into the river, leaving him with amnesia. Meanwhile, Madeline decides to move to South Carolina to restore their old home and, with Prudence's assistance, establish a school. George Hazard approaches her with a business idea, but later that night, she is confronted by the Ku Klux Klan. Upon returning to Lehigh Station, George discovers that Bent has already visited.
