Episode Overview

Title: Departing the Scene Plot: Peter Mills is profoundly shaken after witnessing the lifeless body of a young victim at a train crash site. His emotional turmoil leads him to doubt his path as a firefighter. Meanwhile, Dawson and Shay intervene to rescue a 6-year-old girl from her abusive mother, but their intervention prompts the mother to take drastic measures. Additionally, Severide worsens his injury while helping a man experiencing a heart attack, and Shay makes the difficult decision to send Clarice, her former girlfriend who is now married and expecting a child, back to her husband.
