Four weeks after giving birth prematurely to Romy, who remains in the hospital incubator, Laure Berthaud is eager to get back to work. The 2nd DPJ is dispatched to the twentieth arrondissement, where a human torso has been found. New Commissioner Arnaud Beckriche gives his team a week to crack the case before it’s handed over to the criminal division. Meanwhile, Josephine is stuck at a business law firm when Eric Edelman arrives with an offer to defend the son of a well-known cosmetic surgeon, who stands accused of orchestrating his father's murder.
