Overview
Donny & Marie was a popular American variety show that aired on ABC from January 1976 until January 1979, featuring the sibling pop duo Donny and Marie Osmond. Donny gained fame as part of The Osmonds, a successful music group with his brothers, while Marie was one of the youngest artists to hit #1 on the Billboard Country charts. After catching the eye of ABC-TV President Fred Silverman during their stint co-hosting The Mike Douglas Show, the network offered them their own weekly program. With their string of hits like "I'm Leaving It Up To You" and "Make The World Go Away," they made history as the youngest hosts of a variety show, a record later surpassed by The Keane Brothers.
