The Alps (2021)

Episode Overview

Ben discovers that his father has been admitted to the hospital due to liver failure. Hesitant, he visits and meets Lauren, a friend from his father's A.A. group, who reveals that Mr. Covington doesn't have much time left. Ben is granted power of attorney and learns that his father refuses life support and pain medication, wanting to maintain his sobriety after 67 days. When his father's health declines, Ben cancels a birthday ski trip with Felicity. He’s taken aback by how much Mr. Covington has supported Lauren as her sponsor and that he often talks about Ben. Against his father's wishes, Ben decides to place him on a ventilator in hopes of a transplant opportunity. Meanwhile, Felicity feels uneasy about Professor Cavallo's attention, though he insists he isn’t flirting.
