Episode Overview

Lucy's friend, who has developmental challenges, asks for her assistance in persuading his parents to allow him to join a traveling puppet show. At the same time, Eric is downcast as he recuperates from surgery at home and yearns to return to work despite his doctor's orders. To uplift him, Annie suggests the kids visit Eric with their dilemmas. Ruthie takes this to heart and discreetly approaches Eric for advice on helping with romantic issues, but his involvement spirals into chaos for everyone. Meanwhile, Kevin discovers that Ben intends to prolong his stay in Glenoak.
