Episode Overview
After learning that Mary (Jessica Biel, who does not appear in this episode) has initiated divorce proceedings and relinquished custody of their son, Matt struggles to find the right moment to deliver this heartbreaking news to Eric and Annie. Simon shares with his new girlfriend, Rose (guest-star Sarah Thompson), that he isn’t ready for a sexual relationship, choosing not to reveal his underlying motive. Frustrated, she walks away but returns once she discovers his true desire for a future together—marriage. Meanwhile, Ruthie's boyfriend, Vincent (guest-star Thomas Dekker), seeks Martin’s help to convince Ruthie to end their relationship. Eric becomes involved with the Davis family's children when young Danny (guest-star Drake Johnston) is set to be adopted by Cecilia's parents, George and Gwen (guest-star Brad Maule and Holly Fulger), but neglects to mention that Danny comes with three sisters also in need of a home.
