Episode Overview
When Simon introduces his new girlfriend Rose (guest-star Sarah Thompson) during a surprise visit to Glenoak, Annie grows concerned that their relationship is progressing too quickly. She firmly informs them that they cannot share a room while staying overnight. Despite Rose's protests and Simon's attempts to mediate, they ultimately comply with Annie's rule. Meanwhile, Eric chooses to keep Mary’s (Jessica Biel, who does not appear in this episode) divorce a secret, fearing it would devastate Annie. Additionally, Martin finds himself feeling sidelined in Ruthie and Vincent's romance, as Ruthie mistakenly believes he's envious, while Vincent secretly wishes Martin would help him end things. The adoption process for George (guest-star Brad Maule) and his wife becomes increasingly challenging when their children's biological mother intervenes.
