Episode Overview

Brenda, Donna, Kelly, Steve, and David are gearing up for the SAT. Tensions rise as Brenda frequently clashes with Kelly and faces serious trouble with her parents after they discover she has been smoking since their trip to Paris. Meanwhile, Beth Nielson, a young producer from the tabloid show Back Story, enlists Brenda's help for a story aimed at showcasing the truth about Beverly Hills teens. However, after her boss finds the initial version dull, Beth alters it to make it appear as if Brenda has slandered her friends. As a result, everyone turns against Brenda, but Beth, having left her job due to guilt, stands by her. Brandon hesitates to ask Nikki out since she’s only a sophomore, but their constant proximity leads to an eventual kiss. Dylan opts to skip the SAT to see his father in prison, but Jack persuades him to prioritize his future and take the test at a nearby school.
