Episode Overview
Tensions rise at the university when the Black Student Union invites Roland Turner, a prominent figure known for his anti-Semitic comments, to speak. Jewish student leaders oppose his appearance, fearing it will foster hatred. However, student senator Janice Williams argues that Turner’s message is about unity. Brandon faces backlash for delaying the vote on the event. Andrea protests and accuses him of compromising his values for political gain. Jesse admires Andrea’s dedication but criticizes her for being too rigid in her views. A bomb threat is made, and swastikas are vandalized on the Jewish student union. Encouraged by her grandmother, Andrea decides to hear Turner out and joins Janice at the speech, which leads David to reevaluate his beliefs as he joins the candlelight protest outside.
