Ray argues that it would be foolish to leave the ring there for days, but tensions rise when petty cash and Steve’s gold watch go missing, and he accuses Ray. A confrontation nearly breaks out, prompting Donna to reconsider her relationship with Ray. Valerie uncovers that Ginger is the real thief and forces her to leave town, revealing that the whole setup was orchestrated to show her worth to the group. Brandon, hoping to surprise Kelly with birthday flowers, finds Colin in her room, who ends up disappointing her by skipping the party. He later shares that he was busy creating a special painting for her. At the party, a tipsy Donna makes an awkward advance toward Ray, while Brandon provides Dylan with details about a businessman.
