Overview

Reginald Perrin, weary from years spent at Sunshine Desserts, faces a mid-life crisis that prompts him to stage his own death. After a series of attempts to reinvent himself, he returns incognito to his old job, only to discover nothing has changed. In the second season, he unexpectedly thrives with a chain of shops selling absurd products, but soon feels overwhelmed by his own success and seeks to dismantle the venture. By the final season, Perrin dreams of creating a commune, with the help of his beleaguered colleagues, yet ultimately ends up back in a familiar routine.
