Episode Overview

Title: Perihelion Plot: Captain Knapp has a momentary disagreement with his new first officer, Elizabeth Shelby, before the USS Excelsior sets off to explore the mysterious vanishing of the Nova-class USS Perihelion. Upon reaching the last recorded location of the Perihelion, they find the ship trapped in an unnaturally close orbit around a quantum singularity, accompanied by a massive unidentified craft that overshadows the Excelsior. As they investigate, they uncover the bizarre and harmful effects the singularity has had on the crew of the Perihelion, which now threaten the Excelsior’s crew and potentially the fate of the entire galaxy.
