Episode Overview

Beans, Netero's secretary, informs all the candidates to have dinner and rest up for the next day's third phase. Meanwhile, Tonpa attempts to sabotage Kurapika and Leorio by keeping them awake all night, but he becomes frustrated when they see through his plans. Gon and Killua take the opportunity to explore the airship, during which Killua reveals his background as part of an assassin family and his desire to forge his own path, much to his family's disapproval. Netero then appears and challenges the boys, asking about their thoughts on the exam's difficulties. He proposes a game: whoever can snatch the ball he holds before dawn will automatically pass. Gon and Killua are tempted by the challenge, but soon realize that with Netero's prowess, they stand no chance of getting the ball anytime soon. Eventually, Killua concludes that if Netero continues this way, it could take them a year to succeed.
