Episode Overview
Grady's family has just relocated from the city to a swamp, and neither he nor his sister, Emily, is particularly happy about it—especially when Emily discovers a snake lurking in the medicine cabinet. After Grady jokes that it resembles Emily's ex-boyfriend, their dad insists he release the snake into the swamp. Grady does so but soon finds himself a bit lost. While wandering, he encounters the local swamp hermit. The next day, Grady meets another boy, Will Blake, who shares tales of a peculiar fever that one can catch in the swamp, along with rumors that the hermit is actually a werewolf. Although his family brushes off the story, Grady can't shake the feeling. That night, anxious about avoiding the "Fever Swamp," he heads to secure the basement door, only to be confronted by an animal. Could it be the werewolf?
