Episode Overview
When Ken is knocked off his bike while delivering the blueprints for Albion Firetrucks' new high-tech prototype, the plans are stolen. Fortunately, he is saved by Shandy Tremblett, a platinum-blonde Page 3 girl staying at the Coaching Inn to "broaden her horizons." As the prototype goes missing, Ken takes it upon himself to investigate. He uncovers a scheme involving an American consortium led by Ed Slatterley and Albion's director, Sir Freddie Blackton MP, aiming to buy the company at a bargain price after asset-stripping it. Ken eventually discovers the prototype hidden in a barn. He and Shandy, donning a brass fireman's helmet and a Union Jack robe respectively, stage a publicity stunt on top of the fire engine to rally public support and push the government to approve a management buy-out.
