Episode Overview

J.D. experiences the hospital from a patient's perspective after being admitted for appendicitis. During his examination by Elliot, he complains about her cold demeanor, which frustrates her. Reluctant to have Turk perform the surgery, J.D. unintentionally hurts Turk's feelings. Meanwhile, Dr. Cox is eager to impress his mentor, Dr. Benson, the former chief of medicine who is also a patient. However, Dr. Kelso poses a challenge when he nearly dismisses Dr. Benson before his time in the hospital is complete.
