Episode Overview

Bubba and Vint are out back shooting hoops when Mama steps outside to vent about Lolly Purdue and her poor performance as CCL President. She's eager to dodge Lolly because of the handwritten thank you notes she’s supposed to send, unaware that Iola has already volunteered to help. Just as they wrap up their game, Lolly arrives with bookmarks she wants included in the now-sealed envelopes, prompting Mama and Iola to consider impeaching her. They arrange a special CCL board meeting, but when Lolly unexpectedly shows up, Mama assigns her kitchen duties. As Iola and the others retreat to the porch, Mama makes a shocking discovery: Lolly can't read. This explains her recipe blunders and other mistakes. After some conversation, they decide to launch a program to help people learn to read and write.
